ROYAL CONSERVATORY
THEORY
Suzuki Violin originated in Korea, the founder being Shinichi Suzuki. His overall goal was to teach music to students in a fun way, using auditory skills as well as motor skills. In doing this, young children build skills and also grow into loving & kind young adults.
Suzuki is a method that consists of 10 books.
The Royal Conservatory is an institution based on training and examinations. Levels go from Preparatory-10 and involve examinations quarterly or once the student is prepared. These examinations are performance based up until a point and then they will include theory exams.
Theory is the language of music.
Theory is needed to fully understand music being played on any instrument. It is the foundation of every musician. They are mandatory if enrolled in the RCM examinations.
